The strength of any building lies in its base. Before the first brick is laid above ground, a solid and reliable lower structure must be established. This "lower structure" or substructure of a building plays a crucial role in transferring loads from the building to the earth and ensuring long-term stability. 5. Damp Proof Course (DPC)

DPC is a thin layer of waterproof material laid at the plinth level. It stops moisture from rising into the walls of the superstructure.
